KO - A POLITICAL THRILLER

 KO is political based thriller which stars Jeeva, Ajmal, Karthika, Piaa Bajpai, Prakash raj in the lead was released in the year 2011. It was directed by K. V. Anand  and was a box office hit in 2011. The movie also had a wonderful jukebox which was composed by Harris Jayaraj. 

This story revolves around Ashwin(Jeeva) who is a photo journalist in a Tamil Local news paper named Dina Anjali. The movie starts with a action sequence where Ashwin tries to capture the pics of few robbers who rob a bank. This helps the police to captures the accused with the help of his photographs. This rises his image in his office as he is considered the best photographer. during the chase he is mistaken as a thief and is beaten by Renuka( Karthika) who happens to be the new editor in his office. soon friendship blooms between them and this angers Saro (Piaa Bajpai) who like ashwin. but soon the trio becomes a gang but Jeeva likes Renuka but Saro is unware about it.

political aspects of the movie starts when Renuka publishes an article against Alavandan (Kota Srinivasa Rao) who was the head of one of the opposition party. He blackmails Renuka and tries to sue the company which lead to her dismissal from the press but ashwin saves her by bring the evidence for the article and she is asked to rejoin as well as Alavandan is arrested for marrying a 13 year old girl with out her consent. Yogeswaran(Prakash Raj) who was the chief minister felt happy as one of his opposition party has weaken and it was easy for him to win the elections. another party which consists of young members was emerging which was lead by Vignesh (Ajmal). 

Both the ruling party as well as the opposition party were happy with the emergence of new party so they try to break the party but only leads in damaging their names. Saro along with other party members of the new party are killed in a bomb blast and Ashwin investigated the blast and finds that it was a pre planned murder as in one of the footages Saro is seen choked by a unknown person during the blast. soon the new party win the elections and Vignesh becomes the chief minister.

Renuka then finds Ashwin and Vignesh were collegemates and accuses him to biased towards Vignesh but he denies it and the news of Vignesh releasing the arrested Naxalite group which was involved in the previous bank robbery. So he immediately takes the evidence of the Naxalite leader  who was the one who killed Saro. But Vignesh tries to distract him and leaves his cabinet. He then orders the police to capture the Naxalite team and kill the leader.

Ashwin reaches the place where the Naxalites have stayed and warns them but they try to kill him but he tries to stop them and tell them the truth about Vignesh. They reveal the truth about them working with Vignesh and how they helped him win the elections. It is also revealed that Vignesh was the one who killed Saro as she came to know about the bomb blast which was his plan. In the end Vignesh along with the Naxalite are killed when an bomb stored in the place exploded but Ashwin managed to escape. The story ends with Ashwin and Renuka happily working on their project and a new leader is appointed for the ruling party and Vignesh is said to have sacrificed his life for the well being of his people.
