Best Action Seqeuneces From Thrillers

Action and thriller go hand in hand, many thriller films are defined by the epic action sequences and car chases scenes. Many production houses spend millions on perfecting these scenes in pre-production by prepping the actors or in post-production by adding visual effects. They aid in giving the audience a "Thrill".

Mission Impossible Franchise

The franchise is defined by Tom Cruise's love and commitment for action sequences. With each movie Cruise pushes the limit and surprises the audience with something that has never been done before even in CGI. Cruise's commitment makes the audience feel a sense of authenticity from the actor and filmmakers.

Combined with humor and epic high chase music the Mission Impossible series offers the viewers amazing fight scenes and action sequences.

OldBoy

The South Korean has set the precedent for using fight scenes for story telling and has inspired many other movies and shows to do something similar. The director uses fight scenes to establish the character journey and progress when compared to the start of the film.

The corridor fight scene is an single take shot with no cuts drawing the audience in even more. Combined with the acting and soundtrack this action sequence is one to remember. Instead of relying on flashy lights or CGI the fight scene displays the actor's skills and the movie's cinematography.  This fight scene even inspired Netflix's Daredevil's Hallway fight scene in Season 1.

John Wick

The 2014 American neo-noir contains one of the best action sequences of the decade. Combined with masterful storytelling and Keanu Reeves' presence the action sequences consist of both hand to hand combat and shooting. Given Reeves' history of action films such as Matrix in the past, John Wick lives up to the expectations.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Okay, you got me this movie is not technically a thriller but it does have one of the best action sequences ever. Actually you got me, this movie has MULTIPLE fight scenes, knife fights, secret missions and a plethora of plot twists. In conclusion the greatest Marvel film ever. The movie constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat, not knowing what could happen next. In addition to that film portrays how Steve Rogers finds it difficult to do the right because now he feels that the world has changed so much and he longer knows what is right. The fight scenes are used to navigate Roger's internal conflict with the world.
